Nathan Fillion to Guest Voice on the Venture Bros.

Jackson Publick posted a new blog entry on Publick Nuisance today. Entitled “Tonight’s the Night,” he modestly encourages people to watch the season premiere of the Venture Bros. on Adult Swim. With the post, he gives us new information on a special guest voice this season, actor Nathan Fillion. Nathan Fillion is popularly known for his lead role on Joss Whedon’s TV series, Firefly as Captain Malcolm Reynolds. After a Firefly mention in Pinstripes vs. Poltergeists and popular trends by fans on Twitter, Nathan Fillion is set to guest voice later this season.

Episode Review of “The Diving Bell vs. The Butter-Glider”

Tonight was the moment that Venture fandom had been anticipating with bated breath for months on end. Tortured by the split format of season four and the achingly wide chasm between the two halves, I found I was unable to disassociate my excited expectations when attempting to view the episode with the unbiased and critical eye of a cut-throat assessor. I bounced in my chair, squealing like a school-girl in the throes of spring’s first amorous breezes as soon as the episode began. If I may extend this metaphor, the opening of The Diving Bell vs. The Butter-Glider was passionately strong, dropping us directly into an ongoing crises wrought with tense excitement and explosions—it then abruptly careens us off a cliff and dissolves into slightly disappointing inaction, leaving me desperately wanting for more… just like a teenage crush.

Episode Recap of “The Diving Bell vs. The Butter-Glider”

In true Venture fashion, the season premiere of the Venture Bros. “The Diving Bell vs. the Butter-Glider” was packed with action, surprises, and hilarity.

The opening scene begins with Dr. Venture, paralyzed but conscious in Sgt. Hatred’s jeep. The Venture’s are under attack from the Monarch’s Coccoon. Hank is firing a heavy machine gun until he runs out of “gun food.” In the Cocoon, we see Henchmen 21 in charge and the Monarch is no where to be found. At last, Team Venture arrives at the hospital.

Jackson Publick Season 4.2 Production Update

Jackson Publick updated his blog at Publick Nuisance today. Entitled Nocturnal Emissions, he gives us a production update on the upcoming episodes of the Venture Bros. season 4. Jackson writes that five of the episodes have been completed, while the last three episodes are nearing the final stages of production. “We think you’re really going to like these next eight episodes” says Publick. “We liked the last eight a whole lot, and we think these are better. I can safely say these new ones have more of the things you thought were missing from the last ones, less of the things you thought there was too much of, and quite a few new and unexpected twists.”
